Zenith, Access, UBA, GTB And Other Banks To Shut Down All Branches Nationwide + Reason For The Action!

Commercial banks in the country has given directives to their customers as they will be closing their branches across the country.

Nigerian bank workers will stay at home and close all branches, while banks have equally directed their esteem customers on what to do during this period.

This follows the directive by the federal government through the Minister of Interior Dr Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, which has declared Wednesday June 12 as a public holiday, which is to commemorate Democracy Day in the country.

Several banks has actually sent out messages to their customers as to enable them make alternative arrangements about their banking transactions during this period. They have directed their customers to use other banking means like the ATM, USSD, Mobile and online banking platforms.

According to Wema bank, “Please note, in observance of Democracy Day, our branches will be closed on Wednesday, June 12th. “We will be back to serve you on Thursday, June 13th, 2024. Our alternative banking channels are still here for your convenience. Happy Holidays!”

“Dear valued customer,​ Please be informed that our branches will be closed tomorrow, Wednesday, 12 June 2024, in observance of the Democracy Day break.

However, our digital channels are available for all your banking needs.​Happy Democracy Day celebration,” Stanbic IBTC wrote to its customers.

Normal banking services will resume on Thursday June 13, 2024.
