Just like we mentioned in our previous post, yesterday Friday October 13, 2023, was greeted with mixed feelings and reactions as video of Chioma and Davido posing with their twins baby flooded different social media platforms.
While we were still celebrating with, and congratulating Davido and Chioma, then the issue of Davido and Samklef surfaced from nowhere and took over the entire conversation. This comes as Davido washed Samklef with the harshest of words for posting the same video which has since gone viral. Well, just as many people have continued to shy away from the truth, I have decided to lay bare the truth in this matter.
First of all, Davido disrespected Samklef from every angle, yes! If Davido felt that Samklef has invaded and violated his privacy, when then not send him a private message, demanding for him to take down that very video. But what did he do, he went public to berate, insult and belittle Samklef. Ask yourself, if it was Wizkid, Burnaboy, Don Jazzy, Cubana Chiefpriest, etc, who posted that video, would Davido have used such nasty words on them?
Secondly, was Samklef at the venue where the video was originally taken? Then how come it leaked from there, where Samklef wasn’t there? Why then is Davido attacking Samklef for posting the video he (Samklef) wasn’t responsible for leaking it online? Davido only used Samklef as a scapegoat and as such, transfered unwarranted aggression on Samklef.
Davido should have first enquired about how the video made it way to the social media, before coming for Samklef’s head. Because Samklef was not there at the venue of the video recording, so he shouldn’t be held accountable for the leaked video. Therefore, Davido should be man and mature enough to make a public apology to Samklef.
On the other hand, Samklef never made any negative comment on the said video, he was only happily celebrating with Davido and his family over the arrival of the double blessings in their family, but it ended up being one of the most embarrassing situations Samklef has ever found himself, even if not all his life but in recent times.
Do you understand the level of public humiliation Samklef was subjected to yesterday, simply because he was only celebrating the good thing that happened with a friend, brother and colleague. Let me tell, if not that Samklef has such a strong mental capacity, this treatment meted out to him by Davido, which was subsequently made worse by Davido’s fans, such is capable of plunging him into depression.
In as much as we should respect people’s choices and privacy, it should equally be noted Samklef in this context never violated Davido’s privacy nor that of his family. Yes, because he never leaked that video, and shouldn’t be held accountable or responsible for that, because even before he posted that video, it has been trending on X (formerly known as Twitter), of which he made it clear that he too got it from X/Twitter.
Like said earlier, Davido should be mature enough to apologize to Samklef over the way he treated and humiliated the veteran music producer. Forget the fact that Samklef is not that rich as Davido or some others, but he has his place in the history book as far as Nigeria music industry is concerned.
