Why Sky-B should immediately suspended the idea of rushing to release new songs for the main time…

The recent resurfacing of veteran Nigerian musician, Sky-B was a thing of great joy for millions of Nigerians, especially music lovers, mostly those who have grown to understand the beauty of good music in the early 20s.

Sky-B rocked the airways across the country with his great songs like Am Calling (Ma Bebe), Ogechi My Girl, Pray For Me, Here I Am and others.

His songs were more like national anthem back, in fact while I was schooling at Makurdi back then around 2007/2008, almost all the commercial buses I boarded from North Bank to Wurukum, to Modern Market, and vice-versa, it was his songs the drivers kept playing repeatedly.

Meanwhile, these songs are still relevant till date, whenever the songs are being played people still dance to the tracks. And now that he’s on the journey of reviving his career, Sky-B should forget the idea of rushing to release new songs entirely.

He should embark on doing a remix for some of the songs, doing collaboration with some of the reigning and trending musicians. Persons like Davido, Asake, Burna Boy, Flavour, Phyno, Kizz Daniel, etc.

The money he’s getting at the moment shouldn’t be pushed into new songs, but for the remix of his old songs. The thing is that, the music industry has changed a lot, as such, he may push these money into new music and still flop badly. But doing a remix of his already hit tracks has a better potential of becoming instant success in the market.

Not that he won’t release new songs entirely, but following this format is the best option for him at the moment. But he need to enter the market with his songs that have been known in the market already, than going into the market with entirely new songs.

On the other hand, rushing to do collaboration with others for a new song should equally not be his top priority for now. Whatever Collabo he plans doing should be for a remix of his old songs, basically with some of the artists we listed above.

It is good already that he’s planning music tour across some parts of the country, and equally doing radio tours at the moment. That strategy is is a perfect one, because I have started seeing the buzz and awareness it has started creating for his career.

The trajectory he’s following at the moment is applaudable and should be sustained without any deviation or unnecessary distraction. Funds are not enough at his disposal, so he must manage the money at his hand currently, make judicious use of it, to achieve the best of results.
