The viral story of what transpired recently at one of Omah Lay’s music concerts abroad is not new to our ears. The said incident has expectedly triggered millions of mixed reactions across social media platforms, with most people actually not in support of what happened. While others have been saying words which will rather worsen the mental state of the young man at the center of the unpleasant drama.
People are mostly against the fact that Omah Lay had to pick a lady who was in his own concert with her man, went on stage with her to had such a sensual and erotic dance with her, right in front of the innocent and helpless young man who brought her to the show. In his head he would have definitely regretted ever coming to Omah Lay’s show because of the kind of messy treatment he was eventually subjected to, for no justifiable reason.
Forget about the way we treats issues in this country, always taking sides based on sentiments, emotional allegiance and affiliation, as such, black becomes white once our personal is the culprit. What Omah Lay did was utterly disrespectful and one of the worse humiliation any man can ever suffer, especially publicly. He deserves all the respect and apology from Omah Lay, for his only sin was that he came to support the singer’s career by buying tickets for himself and his girlfriend.
With the aforementioned, then you ask yourself, what crime has this young man committed by coming to Omah Lay’s show? Did he pay to come witness his own public humiliation? Such treatment is enough to plunge him into depression and possible suicidal? Yes, because the worse thing you can attack in any man’s life is his ego, which was what Omah Lay destroyed before the whole world, and he moved on like nothing happened. Not even a few words of remorse, either via a video or post on his social media platforms, who does that?
He doesn’t understand the grave implications of his action in that young man’s life, you think he will recover from such embarrassment and humiliation any time soon? Omah Lay ought to have reached out to him, with apology and extreme show of remorse, and can as well attach monetary compensation. This might not erase the memories from the young man’s head and mind completely or easily, but that will go a long way in appeasing his mind and soul.
Meanwhile, these things ought to have been done before now, yes, everything shouldn’t be taken for a cruise by this our generation, especially in this part of the world. Yes, because it is not everybody who has the mental capacity and strength to withstand such humiliation, as some persons may have even committed suicide or swiftly plunged into severe depression. On the other hand, you do not know the health condition of this young man, forget the fact that he’s still young, it doesn’t change the fact that we ain’t privy to his health condition. It could be that he’s hypertensive, as such, his health condition could have been worsened by that incident, and you never can tell what may become of him afterwards.
Whether Omah Lay was under the influence of anything is inconsequential, especially now, because he can’t claim to be under influence till now. As such, he should have reached out to him and ensure the young man returns to his normal state of mind. Besides, it is this kind of treatment or experience that has led many people astray as they become desperate to meet up with the demands of the society, as such, settling for something that will endanger the society itself and its inhabitants.
Once again, Omah Lay should reach out to this young man and apologize to him, let him keep ego and his celebrity status aside and behave like a noble man. In the end, he would have earned himself more respect from millions of people, rather than locking up and acting like he is not aware that he desecrated a holy ground.
