54 year old Nollywood actress went viral across various media platforms in the country on Friday July 19, 2024, after it was reported she has been suspended as the Chairman of Labour Party in Rivers State, and equally from the party.
She was accused of financial misconduct, abuse of office, breach of party regulations amongst others.
Reacting to the news via a video posted on her verified Instagram handle, she refuted the story citing that she was never suspended by Labour Party, LP, for any reason whatsoever.
The Nollywood actress stated that she has been in the public space for decades, including over thirty years in Nollywood and about ten years working in the international front, never has she been found wanting at any time for financial crimes, and no blemishes and no scandal.
She said that her works are always heavy on honour and integrity, which are the things always investigated before you are given a job or position.
She revealed that it was some selfish and corrupt elements within and outside Labour Party who are hell bent on destabilizing the party, of which she has always stood her ground. Including matters relating to the upcoming Local Government election in Rivers State.
Citing that she has been offered bribes, threatened and all that, but the fact that she refused to be compromised has eventually resulted into the media attacks on her personality and position in the party.
Equally, she was clear on the fact that Labour Party does not even have money, so wondering what money she’s being accused of taking in the first place. As such, urged people to stop peddling fake, inaccurate and inappropriate news.
