Ahead of the May 30 sit at home in South Eastern part of the country and by extension throughout the Igboland, some unknown gunmen have reported struck in Enugu state, burning down several vehicles and other properties.
Recall that the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, had earlier insisted that the May 30 sit-at-home must be obeyed and remains sacrosanct across the South-East, as they say the day is set aside in the affected zone to commemorate the Biafran Heroes Day.
While the reason for this very attack is yet to be ascertained, a Facebook user resident in the affected area, a popular market in part of Nsukka known as Nkwo Ibagwa-Aka lamented the incident, while questioning the motive behind the attack considering the fact that today is May 29, and not the 30th declared as sit at home.
The Facebook user identified as Tboy Tboy shared a couple of pictures from the scene of the attack and wrote, ” it sad news…how unknown gunmen attacks nkwo Ibagwa-Aka early morning today. But I thought is tomorrow 30th they said everyone should stay at home…why attacking today?”
Meanwhile, some others resident in the area who commented on the post confirmed the attack.
“What is this 🏃I think tomorrow is Biafra day ) God save my people from Ibagwa AKA,” @ Omeje Princes.
“They should have mercy on people things are had abeg,” Emmy Collins.
“But some people are heartless,” Chinedu Daniel wrote.
