They Are Powerful Globally, If You Touch One You Touch All- Nigerian Man Police Against Arresting Gay People.

Recall that few days ago, a video went viral across social media platforms, were in the video some members of the LGBTQ community in Nigeria were openly revealing sexuality and identity. The saud video attracted a barrage of mixed reactions, with most people wondering if the Nigerian government and security agencies were actually seeing that.

Meanwhile, a lot of Nigerians were busy tagging social media handles of different security outfits in the country, including personal handles of some known security agents. In a swift response, Force Public Relations Officer, Force Headquarters Abuja, Prince Olumuyiwa Adejobi reacted, making it clear those in the video are criminals before the law, and that they are punishable under the law as well. He further stated that they are already on the matter based on the viral TikTok video of the LGBTQ.

Meanwhile, another concerned Nigerian was on the opposite side, warning the police against the consequences of their action, making it clear that the LGBTQ community is very united and equally powerful globally, that once you touch any one of them the rest will definitely come for you.

Reacting to the comment made by the Force Public Relations Officer, Prince Olumuyiwa Adejobi, he wrote, “the LGBTQ community is highly united and powerful globally. If you touch one, you touch all, even in countries where it’s illegal. I wish the Nigerian police the best of the best”.

Meanwhile, in January 2014 the then Nigerian President, Goodluck Jonathan signed into the law, the same-sex Prohibition bill. The law then stipulates 14 years jail sentence for anyone who enters into a same-sex marriage, 10 years jail term for those or institutions who are part of the said marriage, and 10 years jail term for those who come out publicly to identify themselves as such, and others, including registering it as an organization, opening gay club, which includes those who are their supporters.

Though the law came under severe criticism from some people, especially the western countries and the LGBTQ community, but till date the law is still in existence.
