Tragedy struck in Taraba State earlier today following the unfortunate death of an elderly woman, identified as Mrs. Nemiss Garba, who’s equally a widow, who was knocked down by yet to be identified driver in the state.
The elderly woman was among the women recruited by the government to clean the roads in parts of the State, in the scheme tagged “Operation Keep Taraba Clean”.
She was hit by the driver while on duty along Yola Road, Mile 6, Nobis junction, were her corpse was found before being evacuated to the mortuary.
Her corpse has reportedly been deposited at the Federal Medical Center, FMC, mortuary in Jalingo, Taraba State.
Meanwhile, a resident of the state had earlier warned of the danger involved without the use of caution signs in this type of job.
