It was indeed a night to remember for fans and lovers of Cristiano Ronaldo as he marks another milestone in his already illustrious football career.

The captain of the Portugal male National team has now scored a total of nine hundred goals (900) both for club and country, following Portugal’s 2-1 victory against Luka Modric’s Croatia.

Diego Dalot had opened the scoring before Ronaldo made it two following a swift finish from close range! After scoring the goal, Ronaldo was so emotional during the celebration as he bent to the ground for several seconds, as he obviously pounders on how far he has come.

He has continued to lead the goal chart between his perennial arch rival, Leo Messi who has 835 goals for club and country. And it was continued to widen the gap of comparison between the two as to who is the greatest of all time.

Already, he has the most goals in the UEFA champions league, most international goals for any player, Real Madrid all time leading goal scorer.

Meanwhile the breakdown of the 900 career goals is as follows; one hundred and thirty two (132) goals for Portugal, five (5) for Sporting Lisbon, one hundred and forty five (145) goals for Manchester United, four hundred and fifty (450), one hundred and one (101) goals for Juventus, sixty seven (67) for Al Nassr football club of Saudi Pro league.

Just few days ago, he was equally honoured by UEFA as the Champions League competition all time leading goal scorer with 140 goals in 183 games. The award ‘Special Recognition Award’s was actually handed to him by the Governing President of UEFA, Alexander Ceferin.

While he set a record that will be hard or almost impossible to break by any other footballer. This is because even Leo Messi that many thought would catch up with Ronaldo has 129 goals in the competition, and no longer plays in Europe, practically putting out of the picture.

Then third on the list is Robert Lewandowski with just 46 goals, and with age of 36 in his hands already, it is practically impossible for him to either reach or surpass the record already set by Cristiano Ronaldo A.K.A CR7.
