Nigerian born financial expert, financial analyst and author, Kalu Aja has given led us into the world of his bad experience when his abroad based friend ventured into the complex transport industry.

Just like majority of those who had similar or slightly different experience, Kalu’s friend who was said to be based in Belgium, the early days in the transport business always look attractive and lucrative, but what comes sooner than later is better imagined than experienced.

Well, according to him, that his friend based in Belgium at the period had purchased a bus at the price of five hundred and fifty thousand Naira (#550,000), for the purpose of being used for commercial purpose. The bus owner enjoyed good returns from the driver he entrusted the bus in his care, in fact, for the first three days he remitted forty thousand Naira daily to the bus owner.

The returns made him conclude that within the period of six (6) months, that he would have recovered the money he purchased the bus with, and buy three more buses. Unfortunately, his nightmare began few days afterwards when the bus driver started bringing bills of the expenses he incurred, including #88,000 for a new engine, including the money he used in settling the police and other agencies.

“my friend has collected his keys back. Transport business Kee you there,” Mr. Kalu ended, while equally enquiring about how many of his followers has ever ventured into transport business before.

But on the contrary, I do not really agree with the direction of his message, yes, because there’s no where in the world that you use other’s failures in a particular business to paint a picture of what the business in question represent entirely. That you failed in a particular business venture doesn’t mean others cannot excel in same business, things do not work that way.

At least, he should have gone the angle of informing people about the nature of such a business and if possible, how some others have equally excelled in it rather than a post discouraging people from doing same business.
