The Federal Government of Nigeria is set to put smiles on the faces of members of the National Youth Service Corps, NYSC with the immediate increment of their monthly allowances.
Initially, Corpers were paid thirty three thousand Naira (#33,000), but will be paid seventy seven thousand Naira (#77,000), and is said to Kickoff from the month of July 2024, according to the statement released in this regard.
The news follows a statement released by one Caroline Embu, who is the acting Director of Information and Public Relations of NYSC. Which further made it clear that the increment is in line with the enactment of the National Minimum Wage (Amendment) Act 2024.
In a letter contained in a letter from the National Salaries, Incomes and Wages Commission, which is dated September 25, 2024, and signed by one Ekpo Nta, being the chairman of the commission.
