Few weeks ago, social media was agoged with rants from controversial Nigerian musician, Portable Zazu and Nollywood actor, Charles Okocha A.K.A Igwe 2Pac, resulting from the fall out over the recent show involving the duo.
The Nollywood actor had invited the singer for a show in Lagos State, of which Portable was reportedly paid five million Naira (5,000,000). But when Portable found out that the actor had made about forty million Naira (40,000,000) from the show, he flared up and took to his social media platform to call out Charles Okocha, of which the actor equally responded to the call out. It then resulted to series of war of words between them, challenging each other to appear at their respective choice locations for the fight to go beyond social media.
Now, they have finally fixed a date for the said boxing fight. This comes few days after the two A-list celebrities in the country had posted Photos as they train ahead of the fight outside social media.
Sharing photos from his own training in London, portable wrote, “@charles_okocha if you out body you go collect woto woto Anikuleti street…”
Charles Okocha on his own post wrote, “getting ready with my phenomenal trainer ..tell that B*boon Zazu that I’m sending him back to the Zoo…”
This afternoon, the actor took to his verified Facebook page to share the flyer of his boxing bash against Portable Zazu, slated for 26 December, 2023. Meanwhile, many who have been following the beef between the duo have come to believe that there wasn’t actually any serious fight between them, that the whole thing was scripted and staged as a media stunt aimed at promoting their upcoming show.
Some other berated the duo, especially Charles Okocha for getting involved in such stunt, toiling with the emotions and feelings of their fans and followers who had believed from the on set that there was a serious beef between them. Recall that when the entire drama started, many notable persons had waded into the matter, making posts on their handles on social media platforms, as they try to resolve the matter, which now seemed like a staged.
On the other hand, some are of the opinion that they actually fell out after the show that Portable was paid five million Naira, only that they reconciled their differences afterwards, without carrying the public along, as such, have decided to capitalize on the gap to put up this show, as many people will now be eager to know what will happen eventually. More especially trying to find out if the duo will appear on the same stage again after the entire drama.
Be that as it may, it has been obvious that most Nigerian entertainers have actually embraced the idea of stirring up controversies and media stunt as one of the most effective ways of promoting their upcoming show, event or musical or movie project.
