It Is no longer news that there’s a fallout between the former President of the Nigeria Football Federation, NFF, Mr. Amaju Pinnick and Nigeria super star musician, David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido. Unfortunately, the kind of comments and reactions I have been reading with regards to this matter is really troubling.
Recall that the whole drama started after Pinnick publicly accused Davido of collecting over ninety thousand dollars, precisely $94,600, including$18,000 used in booking a private jet for singer since April. Sadly, Davido refused to perform at the event he was paid to perform in Warri, Delta State.
Pinnick had equally gone ahead to make certain unsavory remarks about Davido during the 19th edition of ‘Warri Again’ help on Friday, October 6, 2023, including the fact that Burna Boy is bigger than Davido. Also, he made mention of other big names in the entertainment industry, as such, that no Star is bigger than Warri.
Davido’s Reaction
Meanwhile, Davido has since replied Amaju Pinnick, including bragging that he will not return the said money to Pinnick, rather to a football charity organization. He equally went on to label the football administrator “dream crusher”, questioning how many Nigerian football talent he has contributed in killing their dreams.
“Warri people hate you,” he added, then promising Warri people that he will be performing in their place come December.
The Hypocrisy:
The truth is that, we are not really ready for positive changes in this country, and there’s nothing else anyone will tell me about it. I have seen lots of comments and reactions with regards to this very matter, and I can only say that I’m shocked.
I see people hailing Davido for his behavior, and anyone with a contrary opinion/comment is instantly attacked, insulted and messed up completely. Most of them are not even talking about the subject matter, rather, they are talking about how Pinnick was corrupt as the then Chairman of NFF, how his administration owed Nigerian footballers for months, as such, that Davido did well.
My happiness is that there are still sane, honest and fearless people in this country, who will always stand for the truth no matter what it takes. Meanwhile, if you go to were they made this comments, you will definitely pity them seeing the level of attacks, insults and abuses meted out to them, simply because they choose to stand were the truth is.
A typical Nigerian person do not see any thing wrong with a crime as long as he or she is benefiting from it. On the same ground, if the person involved in a crime or bad thing in general, is our friend, family member and we are equally benefiting from it, then we can never see anything wrong in what they are doing. That’s a typical or regular Nigerian for you.
Looking at some of these screenshots of comments above I feel so happy, especially for the fact they are preaching the truth to a ruthless and abusive majority, who do not see anything wrong in the subject matter being discussed and dissected!
God bless you big time as you continue to stand with the truth regardless.
