At first, I didn’t want to be part of this Hilda Bacci and Very Dark BlackMan, VDM brouhaha regards those accusing the celebrity Chef of not responding to their messages, whereas she has started the online cooking class they paid 35,000 Naira each for.
Well, looking at how far Hilda Bacci has come, how much she has invested in building that name and brand, and the honour she has brought to the country when she set Guinness World Record for the longest cooking time, then I felt moved to put out this write up.
It is even unfortunate that most Nigerians in their trademark character, mostly fans of the Chef, were actually attacking and insulting Very Dark BlackMan, not contributing any meaningful something towards tackling the issues raised.
Meanwhile, these people are not blind that they will claim they didn’t see all the complaints from people, but because of the sentiments simply because their idol is involved, then she has done nothing. Sorry, you are not really helping her brand in anyway.
First, Very Dark BlackMan was only acting based on information available at his disposal, pushed to him by those who are not happy with Hilda Bacci, for how they have been treated after paying for the online class. It is even more painful to see that some of those who paid for the same thing are already benefiting from it, where as you don’t even know your own fate yet.
Now, after Very Dark BlackMan came up with the first video on this matter, I had expected that Hilda Bacci should not rush to counter him in that manner, rather, she should do her investigation and background checks. The essence is to see where she may have gotten it wrong, and the possible way out.
She should have made available alternative contact, for those complaining to reach out to her or her team, understand what the problem is and the way forward. But rather, she responded in a way that gives room for further dragging of her name and brand in the mud, because these people are not just making wild and vague allegations against her.
No, they are backing it up with concrete evidence of payment, and the several messages they have sent to Hilda Bacci without a single response from her. Yet, her response didn’t address these sensitive issues which are not good for her name and brand, and not even an apology to these people.

On the other, she should have divided the class into different groups or sections, and equally making it known to those who have paid. On the other hand, if she can’t accommodate everyone who has paid for the said class, then she should do the honourable thing by refunding their money.
So, she should revisit this matter in a more mature, friendly, explanatory and accommodating manner. Address the very important issue of those who paid for the class but are yet to know their fate. Make available a contact for these set of people to reach out to you with their complaints and proof of payment.
