The wind of death has once again visited the Nigerian movie industry otherwise known as Nollywood.
This time, a veteran Nollywood actress identified as Stella Ukwuegbu has reportedly passed away. She died on Sunday June 16, 2024, after battling cancer of the leg.
According to Stanley Ontop, “Popular Nollywood actress/veteran Mrs Stella Ukwuegbu is dead. The veteran actress left the world today after battling with leg cancer. Rest well madam Stella. Nollywood not again. It’s well. Shalom!”
“I can’t believe this,” actress Sonia Oge @soniaogeofficial.
“Death is the greatest enemy,” Nollywood actor TC Okafor wrote.
“May her soul rest in peace,” actress Jane Obi prayed.
“Another Nollywood star is gone. She made my childhood memories,” @juliann_igwe lamented.
“This people made us happy but some of them are not really living a happy life,” @dopest_skinny_giovanni.
She has acted in dozens of Nollywood movies, but one of her most outstanding movies was “Ukwa” starring late actors, Amaechi Mounagor and Sam Loco Efe. Others include Nkem Owoh (Osuofia), Patience Ozokwor, Rita Nzelube, Susan Obi, and others.
