It really hurts my heart seeing how her fellow Nigerians just like South Africans did, demonizing the young girl for no justifiable reasons…

Yesterday August 31, 2024, Miss Chidimma Vanessa Adetshina emerged winner of this year’s Miss Universe Nigeria 2024.

She went home with the cash prize of ten million Naira (#10,000,000), a brand new house in Banana Island throughout her reign, 2 brand new cars and other prizes!

And since then mixed reactions have trailed her victory at the pageantry, and even her fellow Nigerians have joined South Africans to antagonize her as well.

While many people from Nigeria had rooted for her when she was maltreated by South Africa during the Miss South Africa pageantry, stood right behind her. But sadly, the situation is not the same again as many of them are obviously not happy with her win yesterday.

They are alleging that she was compensated by the organizers of the Miss Universe Nigeria and she doesn’t truly deserve the crown.

As such, they have set out to demonize and antagonize her just in the same manner South Africans did to her over her questionable nationality while she participated in the Miss South Africa pageantry.

THE DISAPPOINTING REACTIONS FROM SOME NIGERIANS:

“think she doesn’t deserve to win though
It’s a pity vote,” Priscillia Oduwa @prisie1882.

“The people who rigged this contest for her will be the first to condemn INEC,” Zubaire Abdullahi @kingkhone4real.

“If to say South Africa nor reject am she for remember home?” Olokor Sunday @SundayOlokor.

The most suspicious and questionable victory. Are we surprised? Anyway, kindly advise Chidimma to drop our Yoruba surname. Thank you,” X user identified as Ade Omojola @AdeJesuRe remarked.

Continuing, he added, “Pretty girl, no doubt – Doesn’t mean she deserved the pageant crown; they politicized it. Heavy suspicions of rigging. Anyway, that’s not even my issue; just tell Chidimma to drop our Yoruba surname“.

“Now everyone will look at Nigeria as a very lawless country where anything goes. This is soo embarrassing” Adetutu Osun’s Daughter @Asakemijimi.

“It seems this was rigged. I thought na that miss Kwara lead for the vote. Wetin come sup?” Kakanfo @kakanfo_

“Shame,” Balogun Joseph @balogin.

“Una don use sentiments crown her na. She was invited because of the SA saga not that she wanted to contest. That is first sentiment”

“The judges would also appeal to pity during the process (Argumentum ad miscerecundum). She is been crowned and no much arguments sir. Congrats to her,” Dr Saint Dikachi @Drsaintdikachi.

“Rigged!,” Mayowa_David @Mayordavid_9

“This is proof that the Miss Universe Nigeria competition has ALWAYS been a scam,” Joys @joyces1717.

“She chose another country ahead of her country, then she got rejected but we decided to compensate her in pity because she was rejected”

“We have homegrown beautiful ladies, we deprived them of the opportunity. Naija never ready,” Glory Glory United @ggmu4_ll.

“pls sir did Chidinma won by merit or she was compensated because of what happened in south Africa let’s be honest so that it won’t destroy the integrity or value of Miss Universe Nigeria,” Amazing @OKEBEAMAZING.

“You’re absolutely disgrace. You had to bring someone over from South Africa whom South Africans rejected because of her parent criminal record just to prove a point ahead of Nigerians who worked their asssws of just to be stripped off. You’re scarier than the devil, You’re evil,” Be Humble @behumble18.

“Rigged. What a show of shame,” Adex Smith @adex_smithjr.

This is really heartbreaking seeing how her fellow Nigerians joining those who fought her to drag her in an attempt to bring her down. Sadly, I have seen people already attaching ethnic sentiments to her winning and all that.

So my question is, what’s now the difference between what we are doing to her now and what South Africans did to her weeks ago?
