Popular and controversial Nigerian cross dresser and Transgender, Idris Okuneye better known as Bobrisky was earlier arrested and grilled by the anti graft agency, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, for allegedly mutilation of the Naira notes.
With the main offence taking place during the premier of the movie “Ajakaju” in Lekki, Lagos State on March 24, 2024. Well, with the video from the event, capturing the moment Bobrisky was spraying money, many people have actually faulted the reason posted by EFCC as why they arrested the cross dresser.
In the said video, Bobrisky wasn’t actually spraying the Naira notes on the ground nor did it show moments anyone stepped on it, it was actually being sprayed into a waiting container, held by unidentified man in the video.
As such, many people are of the opinion that the reason behind Bobrisky’s arrest hasn’t been made known yet, as it must have been instigated by some powerful forces in the country. On the other hand, some alleged that his arrest maybe as a result of some other offences he may have committed prior to the incident at the said movie premiere.
“he didn’t disrespect the currency. I’m a bit confused what exactly is his offence?” Instagram user @i_am_ro_se commented.

Meanwhile, some others went as far as naming top personalities in the country who have done worse thing to the Naira, which videos of it are out there, yet nothing was done to them by the same EFCC.

Though the EFCC stated in the statement released via their verified X handle, that Bobrisky has committed similar offence at some other events, of which they didn’t mention it in the press release.
