American rapper and Activist, Michael Santiago Render, better known on the stage as Killer Mike has reportedly been arrested right at the venue of the 66th Grammy Awards, just moments after he had won in three separate categories; Best Rap Album for “Michael, Best Rap Song and Best Rap Performance for “Scientists & Engineers”.
Meanwhile, he has been receiving congratulations from people including some of the industry legends and others, when news broke out, including a video clip of the rapper being led away in handcuffs by the police.
“Dreams come true. It is a sweep. #Michael,” he posted as he celebrated his massive wins at this year’s Grammys.
“Congrats King. Well deserved,” Busta Rhymes commented on his celebration post.
“Wowwwww finally the real,” FatJoe reacted to the awards. And some others as well, before the surprised arrest of the winner, Killer Mike.
Sadly, at the time of this report, it has not been made clear, what the arrest represents, though it was confirmed the security agents were actually from the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD). But according to Hollywood Reporter, the arrest is allegedly linked to Misdemeanor and not about the awards.
Meanwhile, I have seen mixed reactions to the arrest, with some jokingly saying he stole Travis Scott’s award, while others questioned the essence of arresting him at the venue of the award, as though it was made to humiliate him, including the use of double cuffs on him. Be that as it may, we await the outcome of the arrest.
