Here’s a story of a certain family in Mexico who became notorious for drug trafficking, kidnapping, assassinations, and several other crimes.

This includes more than five family members involved in all these, including a senior and Junior brother who has reportedly seen the killing of hundreds of humans, allegedly.

While the senior of the two brothers is known as Miguel Treviño Morales, with the codename “Z40”, the younger brother is known as Alejandro “Omar” Treviño Morales, with his codename as “Z42”.

The two brother got involved in car theft and extorting from the early ages in their lives. And they later joined a group of military trained enforcers working for the gulf cartel otherwise known as the Zetas.

Miguel Ángel Treviño Morales: Born on the 18th day of November 1970, he’s considered one of the most dangerous and dreaded persons in Mexico.

He used to be the leader of the criminal and drug organization in Mexico known as Los Zetas, until he was captured in July 2013, after years of being on the wanted list of both Mexico and the U.S.

Fondly called Z40, he was one of Mexico’s most wanted drug Lords until his capture in 2013. He started his criminal activities as a teenager and worked for Los Tejas, which is a local gang in is hometown of Nuevo Laredo, Tamaulipas.

It was reported that because of his ability to speak the English language well and experience in criminal activities, especially when it comes to moving contraband items along the U.S/Mexico border, it was an advantage into his recruitment into the criminal syndicate in late 90s by the then Drug Lord Osiel Cardenas Guillen, who was equally the head of the Gulf Cartel and Los Zetas at that period.

His brutal and dangerous nature earned him quick promotions through the ranks, as he was even sent on several foreign murder, assassination, kidnapping and drug trafficking assignments, of which he often delivers perfectly. He was actively involved in the elimination of rival drug cartels home and abroad, making him a worthy asset for the group. All of these made it easier for him to rise to the top within a reasonable period of time.

Omar Treviño Morales: Born on 26th day of January 1974, he was the former leader of one of the most notorious, deadly and dangerous drug cartels in Mexico, known as Los Zetas.

Following the arrest of his elder brother on July 15, 2013, he succeeded him as the leader of the Los Zetas drug and criminal organization.

But his reign was shortlived as around 4:00 on March 4, 2015, he was reportedly arrested in Fuentes Del Valle located in San Pedro Garza Garcia, Nuevo Leon. He was captured by the Federal Police and the Mexican Military (Army).

Even before his eventual arrest, his criminal charges were vast, which includes several murders and abductions carried out in Nuevo Laredo, in a period between 2005-2006. He was equally responsible for the smuggle of multi kilograms quantity of cocaine from Mexico into the United States of America.

At a point during when he was being hunted by the United States government, the U.S Department of State offered a reward that was up to $5 million U.S dollar for anyone with information that could lead to his arrest and otherwise.

Both brother are currently held in Mexico maximum cell custody. They are kept in Mexico detention to avoid their extradition to the United States of America.

MORE FAMILY MEMBERS INVOLVED IN DRUG BUSINESS.

The story didn’t just end there. Do you know that Miguel Ángel Treviño Morales‘s elder brother, Juan Francisco Trevino Morales is currently serving a jail term in the United States of America. His son, Juan Francisco Treviño Chávez, alias El Quico, who’s equally a nephew to both Miguel and Omar, was arrested in Monterrey on the 15th day of June 2012.

And another of their nephew, Eduardo Trevino Trevino, was arrested in Nuevo Laredo sometime in May 2013 and currently awaits extradition to the U.S for charges bordering on kidnapping and drug trafficking that reportedly dates back to a period of time in 2010.

In November 2017, the Mexican Tamaulipas state authorities arrested a sister to the two Zetas drug Lords, identified as Ana Isabel Treviño Morales in a raid on Monday night, in Nuevo Laredo, being their strong hold of operations.

Her arrest was said to be in connection with a kidnapping case that allegedly occurred in November 2016.

Then Miguel’s wife, Juanita Del Carmen Rios Hernandez is already on the list of the Foreign Narcotics Kingpin Designation Act, that was in February of 2014, which prohibits U.S citizens from transacting any sort of business with her and companies under her name.
