It was a great start for Romelu Lukaku on his debut match for his new club Napoli as he scored in the stoppage time to equalize for his club against Sassuolo.
Lukaku was signed on deadline day as a replacement for the unsettled Victor Osimhen who contributed immensely to the club’s winning the league title in the 2022/2023 season.
While Lukaku scored in 91 minutes plus, to equalize for Napoli, then fellow teammate, Zambo Anguissa then scored the winner minutes later to secure all three points for Napoli.
Meanwhile, in the absence of the excommunicated Victor Osimhen the team struggled to perform well, though there won Parma but their performance wasn’t convincing at all.
Even with Parma having a player sent off, Napoli still struggled to win, which can be deduced from the time they managed to score the equalizer before the eventually winning goal.
Meanwhile, it was earlier reported that Lukaku will officially wear the jersey number 9, which used to be Osimhen’s jersey number up until his love gone sour relationship with Napoli. But it turned out Lukaku is having jersey number 11. Whether it is his permanent or temporary jersey number only time will tell.
