A small girl of about six (6) years of age has reportedly been brutally abused by her guardian, whom she had gone to live with as her house help. In the photos of the young girl in question have been circulating online, with blood littered all over her face and body, resulting from the wounds she sustained from the beating meted out to her by her guardian. As you can see in some of the photos, she has swollen hands, who knows the kind of object the wi.cked must have used in hitting the small girl!
Frankly my heart is just messed up this night, since I came across the story, even the ice cream I bought to use and relax for the night has been given out, because I lost appetite for everything.
Though the location of the incident couldn’t be authoritatively ascertained, but our little investigation points to the fact that it happened in Liberia. And also, we learnt that the only sin this small girl committed was that she took a meat from the soup pot, without the permission of the woman she lives in her house.
This incident has sparked widespread mixed reactions amongst many people, with majority of the comments wondering why such a tender girl was sent by her parents for a house help job in the first instance. While on the other hand, others have equally questioned the kind of heart the woman has, to have subjected such a small girl to such level of maltreatment.
Meanwhile, just like many people have said, I think it is high time parents stop giving birth to child/children they are not capable of taking care of. Because it is the bane of this issue of child labour/abuse, yes, because this very child should be in school, or be at home reading her books or watching cartoons.
Frankly, government at all levels should domesticate laws forbidding parents from sending out children for house help or house keeping jobs, most especially for certain age bracket. Yes, it will definitely play vital roles in curbing this madness.
There are things that are not supposed to still exist in this present generation, but it’s so unfortunate that we still have such in multiple existence within us, and on the other hand, government at all levels are not really doing enough to put a stop to it, hence why people still have the guts to perpetrate such barbaric acts.
