The past few days has been some how regaled with the unsavoury drama between Five Star Music artist, Kcee and Igwe Credo, over their unfinished business surrounding the use of OjaPiano in one of KCee’s song, which has since gone viral, even on the global stage. Igwe Credo on the other hand became angry after all the promises he alleged that KCee made to him and his partner, Azzy Igbonile, were not forthcoming after many months, and equally no signs of such promises ever going to be fulfilled.

Well, just as many people have continued to give their opinions on the matter; some blaming KCee for failing to help the mastermind of his highly successful OjaPiano, while some blamed the boys for possessing “entitlement mentality”, but that has not been able to resolve the matter, rather it has pushed the matter to yet another level, filled with animosity and bitterness against each other.

But be that as it may, there’s one particular problem I have sighted in this music transaction between KCee and the boys behind the OjaPiano sound, that eventually went sour. Same issue which has continued to repeat itself in the industry in this part of the world, and many will still walk same lane. What is the agreement between this two parties? Remember that agreement is not a promise made to either of the duo, but a legal stipulations of the roles of each person in the transaction, and what will be due to each person as well.

Yes, because I all i have been hearing in all of these is promises of what he said he will do for us, even the said money that was given to the OjaPiano boys was not clearly stated anywhere, it was just something given to them as a result of personal conviction. Now, with this kind of situation, what will be the fate of the OjaPiano boys? How do they begin to prosecute this case, legally.

The problem with many of these artists is desperation, once they are faced with a situation like this, they don’t care about what may happen afterwards, they think it’s going to be all rosy to the end!

Now take a look at the OjaPiano boys, they have something special, which KCee needed badly for his own business, why not tell KCee in a very polite and friendly manner or allow your manager or lawyer handle such conversation, to determine what should be your interest or benefit in that very transaction?

On the other hand, except you decided to use that transaction to market your brand, of which, whatever you get from it you are okay, which I do not think that was the case in this matter. Yes, because if it was, I do not think that you would have come out to lament about the amount of money KCee paid you guys in total, at the end.

And now, you do not have a concrete arrangement with KCee, and to himself the money he paid you guys is enough, while to you people, the amount is too small, especially compared to the success of the business afterwards. That’s the importance of having a concrete arrangement before going into any business transaction, as a way of protecting your own interest and even that of the other person, and in the end both parties are happy doing business together, and equally look forward to working together again.

But in this situation, such possiblity of further business together is almost dead on arrival, because it was badly packaged.

It is obvious that KCee saw something valuable in you people, he needed it to push his own business, now that he has succeeded in achieving that goal, happy with the outcome, but on the other side, you guys who has that which he needed are now on the grieving end, all because of the mistake you made, because you allowed your emotions to override you. As such, you guys are feeling “used and dumped”.

A word is enough for the wise!
