The much awaited Night for the Grammy Awards has seemingly come and gone, with Nigerians being one of the most disappointed following the outcome of the award night. Many people from this part of the world have strongly rooted for Davido to, at least, win in of the three categories he was nominated.
And as such, thousands of Nigerians have descended on Grammy Awards, both on their official social media platforms and on their personal platforms, to attack them, accusing them of robbing their beloved artist, Davido.
But just like it is often said that, “if wishes were horses then beggars would definitely ride”, the wishes of these Nigerians were brutally crashed beyond words. Even though Davido wasn’t the only Nigerian nominated in some of these categories, but his lost pained them the most, especially to a South African singer, Tyla, coming on the heels of the semi finals ties between the two countries at the ongoing African Cup of Nations, AFCON, in Ivory Coast.
Sadly, many of them have even threatened to embark on massive reporting of the verified Instagram handle of the award, in a desperate bid to have Instagram take down the account. Hmm!
According to one of the comments from @Whoizmario_officialz wrote, “Una rob Davido, that’s why God dey always use d!saster destroy una”. Frankly, this is so mean and uncalled for.

Davido was nominated in three categories; Best African Music Performance, which he lost to Tyla’s Water, Best Global Music Performance, which he lost to Bela Fleck (Pashto), while the third is Best Global Music Album which he equally lost to Shakti for the album “The Moment”.
Well, I urge Nigerians to take it easy, this is not the best way to handle such issues, coz awards are not done based on sympathy or emotional validation. You have to earn, and besides most of you don’t even know the criterias to winning this award, yet you are fuming that your favourite didn’t win.
Yes, we all are not happy that our 001 didn’t pick up the award as we expected, but being violent with out words is neither the best way to go. Davido is still very young, talented, as such, has enough time to win it. Do you know how many global big time musicians who never even got nominated talk more of winning the award? Just try and visit google and check out for yourself, and you will be shocked.
Davido will win again, it’s not the end my people, let love lead as always!
