This follows the recent revelation made by Very Dark BlackMan, VDM, implicating Bobrisky in an alleged bribery scandal involving some officials of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, and the Nigerian Correctional center.
In the leaked audio taping, Bobrisky allegedly said she was not inside the prison facility during his six months jail term, as a special apartment was rented for him outside the prison.
On the other hand, it was equally revealed in the audio taping that Bobrisky paid 15 million Naira for the EFCC to drop the money laundering charges against him, and focus only on the Naira abuse charges.
As a result, the Federal Government through the Minister of Interior Dr Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, has suspended the officers in charge of the Maximum and Minimum Custodial Centres, Kirikiri, Lagos State.
This was made known to the public by the Secretary of the Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board, CDCFIB, Ja’afaru Ahmed, in Abuja on Thursday September 26.
Meanwhile, the Minister of Interior, Dr Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo had on Wednesday initiated a comprehensive probe and investigation into the matter. Which has now resulted in the suspension of the aforementioned Prison officials, which according to the statement released, is simply to give adequate space for full and thorough investigation, which will equally be published for public consumption in the end.
Some of the senior officers who were suspended include the Deputy Controller of Corrections (DCC), In-Charge of Medium Security Custodial Centre (MSCC), Kiri-kiri, Lagos State, Mr. Michael Anugwa, and the Deputy Controller of Corrections (DCC), In-Charge of Maximum-Security Custodial Centre (MSCC), Kiri-kiri, Lagos State, Sikiru Adekunle.
