Many were once again moved to tears today during a live video on Facebook hosted by popular Nigerian philanthropist and passionate helper, Okwuluora, as he visited veteran Nollywood actor, Amechi Mounagor at the hospital.
The ailing actor who is currently in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) appealed for financial assistance to enable him seek treatment for his ailments. The actor begged people to donate money for his treatment as he do not want to die yet. Meanwhile, Okwuluora who immediately donated the sum of one hundred thousand Naira (N100,000), as he urged others to follow up as to save the life of the actor. A lot of people started making donations immediately, including those who donations of five hundred thousand Naira (N500,000) and other huge amount of money.
When he gave the actor’s wife who was standing beside her sick husband, the audience to talk to the people, she revealed that her husband is suffering from kidney failure and stroke, which made Okwuluora scream out of pity. Further, she begged people to come to the aid of her husband.
On the part of the actor, he lamented his worsening health condition which has dried up his pocket. The audience were instantly heartbroken when he pleaded that he doesn’t want to die, that people should help him with money.
Okwuluora begged people, especially the Igbos, home and abroad, including the former Minister of Aviation, Chief Osita Chidoka who is from the same place with the ailing actor, precisely Obosi in Anambra State, to come to his help. He stated that the actor is already undergoing dialysis, of which he asked the wife to show the audience the part of the actor’s body were the dialysis is being performed and she quickly opened his chest. Then Okwuluora said that what the actor needs is to be flown abroad for a kidney transplant urgently.
He took the audience through memories of how the actor made the child of many of us interesting and memorable, remembering his role in the then Nollywood blockbuster movie titled “Aki na Paw” featuring Osita Iheme A.K.A paw-paw and Chinedu Ikedieze A.K.A aki . And several other nollywood great movies he acted.
