Many people have actually wondered what a loaf of bread selling for 20,000 Naira will do to their life should they cough out such a huge amount on just bread…
The economic situation in the country has left prices of certain commodities in the market struggling for a space with the moon and sun in the sky.
Sadly, the fluctuating and rising foreign exchange rate has not helped matter as well. We have seen the cost of living worsened in recent times and has forced many people go to bed without food.
Amidst all these, people are shocked that a mere bread is selling for as high as twenty thousand Naira (#20,000) for a loaf, which according to popular Nigerian activist, Adeyanju Deji, was sold for as low as two thousand Naira in 2015.
Reacting to the price of the said bread, Brioche Loaf, reportedly being imported from France, he wrote, “this same bread was N2k in 2015”.
The post has sparked mixed reactions from people, mostly Nigerians, as many of them are wondering what’s in the said bread that made it that mostly.
