Popular and controversial social media sensation and writer, Daniel Regha has reacted to the recent nomination of Davido for the 2024 Grammy Awards. While many Nigerians were busy celebrating with the “E Pain Me” crooner, Daniel Regha has decided to embark on the spoiler game instead.

While he made it clear that it is a big joke giving Davido the chance into the nominees list, on the other hand, he gave Burna Boy a pass mark in just one category alone, which is in the category of Best Global Music Performance for his song titled “Alone”, which Daniel Regha admitted was a great song.

He claimed that Davido’s album (Timeless) which aimed him three nominations is not a dope music album, as such, doesn’t merit the nominations. He equally thrashed Burna’s “I Told Them” music album, and stating clearly that it doesn’t deserve any of the nominations.

It wasn’t Davido and Burna Boy that he berated, he equally went for Ayrra Star’s “Rush”, describing it as a song with no meaningful message, but only possesses rhymes. Daniel described the song “Water” by Tyla which got a spot on the Grammys nominees list, as an over hyped sexual glorifying song.

Further, he alleged that it is because of these mediocre process of award is the major reason a lot of music artists are more interested in spending so much money on PR and how many charts they are able to top, which he said has practically killed the urge and desire to make great songs with meaningful message.

He ended by saying that, “Once again, the Grammys have nominated people based on favouritism.”

Meanwhile, Nigerian musicians got ten nominations in the 2024 Grammy Awards, with Burna Boy receiving four and Davido has three nominations. Others who made it into the list include Asake, Ayra Starr, Olamide, Fireboy DML.

On the other hand, many people have continued to react angrily with the fact that Rema with his globally acclaimed hit track “Calm Down” could not get even a single nomination.
