Legendary Nollywood actress and one of the main stars of the iconic Nollywood movie “Living in Bondage”, in the person of Merit Okonta is a year older today, April 5, 2024..
And fans of the actress are not keeping quiet…
Following her huge success in the 1992 Nollywood blockbuster movie “Living in Bondage'”, Merit Nwabueze Okonta instantly became a movie star and one of the most sort after back then.
Not until she got married soon after and vanished into thin air, and left her fans in the middle of the sea, with no one able to actually give a good account of her whereabout.
Well, she recently made a comeback, following the death of her husband, and today is the birthday of this screen goddess. She took to her social media handle to share a stunning photo of herself and with a simple caption, “Happy birthday to me”.
Meanwhile, lots of her fans have actually besieged her page to celebrate her birthday with their ageless beauty queen.
“Happy birthday blessings to my childhood diva. Many happy returns mama,” Facebook user @ Vivian Adetoye wished her.
“Happy birthday Merit. You are blessed IJN,” Abdul Rayner Xcel Ochei wrote.
“Happy birthday to u Ma, my very own Merit, live long and prosper,” Chinyere Nwankwo wrote.
“Happy birthday to you beautiful woman… Wishing you all the finest things life has to offer may your dreams come true long life and good health in Jesus name Amen, is all about you today,” Ngluv Okonkwo Nnoli wrote as well.

Unfortunately, none of her colleagues in the movie industry wished her anything in the post, except for Junior Pope who just liked the post.
On the other hand, since her return to the industry she has featured in a couple of movies like Anambra Na Imo, Second Chance, Chidera, Dead Romance, Addicted, Emotional Affair, and more.
