Everyday we basically come across things that leaves us extremely thrilled or shocked, yet remains undisputed fact. One of this is the story we are about to share in this article.

Viatina-19 is a member of the Nelore beef cows, which is actually an embodiment of the Brazilian ambitions. Regarded as the most expensive cow globally, with an estimated value of $4.3 million, it is then constantly monitored by an armed security personnel and CCT cameras as well.

Surprisingly, the cow attracts regular visitors in their thousands, mostly Brazilians, in its barn, which is very close to the City of Uberaba, located in the eastern state of Minas Gerais.

Meanwhile, the Associated Press reported that the cow (Viatina-19) is about three times costlier than the previous most expensive cow which has already been sold before now. This is basically for the fact that Viatina-19 gains much muscle tissue in such a quick time, and all it’s characteristics are equally transferred to its offspring(s).

According to the veterinarian in charge of the cow and its caring, Lorrany Martins, “She’s the closest to perfection. She is a complete cow, she has all the characteristics that all breeders are looking for”.

Important to note is the fact that, this cow specie, just one of it is often owned by several persons due to the price. Report has it that breeders of the cow often obtain eggs/sperm and inseminate the embryo, resulting into surrogate cows, to produce the next generation of the breed.

On the other hand, following the issue of climate change, climate scientists have repeatedly called for a reduction in the consumption of cow meat (beef) as beef production is reportedly to be the largest source of greenhouse gases globally in Agriculture.

Besides, the increasing number of pastures has resulted in increasing rate of deforestation, of which even the data from the United States of America Ministry of Agriculture estimates that there are over 230 million cows in Brazil alone. This is because cattle breeding is remains one of the country’s main source of economic development and otherwise.

As such, the country remains the largest exporter of beef globally and has continued to work on ways of dominating the global market, including coming up with more competitive breeds.
