A certain Nigerian lady took to her Facebook page to celebrate something she considered special in her life; her engagement. The visibly happy and joyous lady identified as Stephanie Amaka equally shared a couple of photos of herself and with friends, in what seem like a low key engagement party.
“She said yes,” she captioned the post, as she flaunts the engagement ring in the photos.
She has since received dozens of congratulations from both friends, Facebook followers and well wishers. But some others have equally made some sort of unsavoury remarks, on the ground that what’s so special about a man putting an engagement ring in a woman’s finger.
Well, such remarks or comments are totally disrespectful and insensitive, because you do not have any right to determine what should be celebrated in another person’s life. And on the other hand, there are things we must learn to stop doing in this part of the world, the attitude of coming to act as spoilers in other people’s joyous and special moments, if you are not happy or interested in what other’s are celebrating, it’s better you turn the other way.
