Former Nigeria’s Minister of Finance and the current Director General of World Trade Organization, WTO, in the person of Dr. Ngozi Okonjo Iweala threw a mini birthday party for her nonagenarian mother.
Ngozi whose name and personality is literary worth more than the most expensive gold out there, took to her verified Twitter account to share few photos from the 94th birthday celebration of her lovely mother.
The celebration which was hosted at her Abuja residence was attended by few family members and friends, including the country’s incumbent National Security Adviser and former Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Malam Nuhu Ribadu.
“Celebrating my mother’s 94th birthday with family and few friends in Abuja,” she captioned the post.
Many people via her social media platform, have joined in celebrating the nonagenarian and mother of one of the greatest women globally. Some of them openly expressed admiration at the divine gift of the blessing of long life in the family.
On the other hand, some made subtle observation of how modest the birthday celebration was. This they remarked, in spite of the enormous wealth and fortune associated with Ngozi and her family, they staged such a quiet and non-lavish birthday celebration of that magnitude, considering the age of her mother.
Though they weren’t actually criticizing her modesty, rather, they were trying to strike a balance with what’s mostly obtainable elsewhere, particular in the present world in this part of the world. In fact, most of them were in awe and openly admired it, while urging lavish young people to always learn certain lifestyles from such personalities like Dr. Ngozi Okonjo Iweala.
