The Nigerian music industry has grown so big in recent times, and as such, has placed many Nigerian musicians on the global stage along with other musicians from abroad, mostly American and European music stars.

Meanwhile, in the face of the astonishing growth of the Nigerian music industry, it has equally become a huge boost for these artists to also earn bigger, both in shows and on several local and international streaming and digital platforms. And as the year draws to an end, we have compiled a list of the most streamed music albums of Nigerian musicians on Spotify.

The year 2023 saw a lot of Nigerian musicians come through with dope music albums, further cementing their place and status at the top. Artists like Asake, Davido, Burna Boy, Odumodo Blvck, Olamde, others released highly performing and successful albums this year, of which all ranked top on the most streamed albums on Spotify and other digital platforms in 2023.

According to a post made by Davido on his verified Facebook page, he topped the list of the most streamed albums of 2023 on Spotify with his globally acclaimed album titled “Timeless”. Followed by Asake’s “Work of Art”, Burna Boy’s “I Told Them”, “Eziokwu” by Odumodo Blvck, “Rave and Roses Ultra” by Rema, “Sincerely Benson” by BNXN, “Unruly” by Olamide, “Blessed” by the late Mohbad, “Body and Soul” by Joeboy and “T.E.A” by Adekunle Gold, respectively.

Adekunle Gold’s album was released on July 28, Davido’s on March 31, Burna’s on August 25, Asake’s June 16, Odumodo’s October 6, Olamide’s August 8, Mohbad’s June 30, Joeboy’s May 19, October 5, all in 2023. It was only Rema’s “Rave & Roses Ultra” that was released in 2022, precisely on March 25.

Meanwhile, Mohbad’s album got increased streaming and downloads immediately after his demise, possibly triggered by the unfortunate circumstances surrounding his death, which equally triggered a seemingly unending public sympathy.
