As the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited, NNPCL, began lifting Premium Motor Spirit, PMS, from the Dangote Refinery today Sunday September 15, 2024, which looks like the long and lingering drama between the two business establishments are over, but no.
Today NNPCL through its Spokesperson, Mr. Olufemi Soneye, revealed that the actual amount the Dangote Refinery is selling PMS to NNPCL is at the price of Eight Hundred and ninety eight Naira (898). But the refinery has come out to refute such claims.
According to the press statement released by Dangote Group late Sunday night, September 15, 2024, they denied selling the product to NNPCL at N898 but equally failed to disclose the amount they sold the product to NNPCL.
They accused NNPCL of trying to mislead the people through its mischievous statement aimed at undermining the milestone achievement of the Dangote Refinery recorded today September 15, 2024. This milestone the statement said is aimed at addressing energy insufficiency and insecurity bedeviling the country in the past 50 years.
The statement revealed that the price Dangote Refinery is selling to NNPCL is far more cheaper than what they previously get from imported PMS, and will save a lot of money for them.
