It has been a week long back and forth with Victor Osimhen’s transfer away from Napoli to another football destination. It was almost like he has become a rejected person following the backlashes he faced in the past few days on social media platforms.
Following his move to Galatasaray on Tuesday September 3, 2024, it’s been excitement and celebration amongst his fans, especially his fellow Nigerians. But majority of Chelsea fans in the country are not happy that he didn’t end up in their club.
His close friend and flamboyant big boy, Pascal Okechukwu, popularly known as Cubana Chiefpriest or Eze Mmuo has joined those celebrating Osimhen’s move away from Napoli were he has been axed from the first team.
“Congratulations Goal Machine @victorosimhen9 E Go Burn Them Like Hot Water @galatasaray All The Way Make Dem Run My 7Xl Jersey For Me. Goal na water,” he wrote.
At least Osimhen can now breathe a sigh of relief as it has been a tough week for him. It became even worse when he couldn’t finalize his deal to Chelsea, as many of Chelsea’s fans in Nigeria were visibly disappointed as they had placed all their hope on the much anticipated arrival of Osimhen, to solve their age long problem of finding a perfect striker to lead the team.
But finally, when it seems all hope is lost, the Galatasaray loan deal came through and the young man eventually heaved a sigh of relief. With the club even offering a bigger salary structure more than what Chelsea had offered.
But lots of people have blamed his agent for his travails, as he should have applied enough wisdom in handling Osimhen’s case, knowing fully well that the 25 year old striker is no longer needed at Napoli. As such, taking pay cut just to move away from the club should have been their most paramount option.
Be that as it may, we are really happy that he has finally secured a new deal elsewhere. Because I can’t imagine him not playing a topflight football for a whole season, it would have obviously had a big negative impacts on him.
