The story regards the kidney problem that popular cross dresser and transgender, Jay Boogie, claimed to have is seemingly taking different dimensions with each day. Jay has for the past few weeks been bitterly crying out to the public for financial assistance over the kidney problem he was said to have, resulting from complications associated with the botched BBL surgery he had within this same period.

Well, the latest story about Jay and his alleged Kidney problem is that all that story were cooked up as he never had the kidney problem he claimed to have. There’s a growing call for the arrest of Jay Boogie and his bestie, Kim, for allegedly scamming and deceiving Nigerians that Jay had suffered serious kidney problem as a result of complications arising from his failed butt surgery in Lagos State.

According to popular Instagram blogger, Tosin Silverdam (@_tosinsilvedam), Jay and his friend Kim should be arrested for scamming Nigerians as Jay does not need any kidney transplant. He also revealed that the GoFundMe account set up for Jay, to raise enough money for the kidney transplant has been flagged as fraudulent account, for their failure to provide the rest result from the hospital he’s admitted into, to authenticate their mission on GoFundMe.

Further, the post stated that all those helping Jay Boogie to solicit funds via the GoFundMe platform has been blocked, including the LGBT community. Also, it was revealed that several organizations had wanted to take up the sponsorship of the kidney transplant, but Jay Boogie and those involved in the scam were reluctant to accept the offer, knowing fully that such offer will rather expose them and their fraud.

Well, the truth about this whole story may not have been fully told, but it’s so unfortunate that the kindness of Nigerians are gradually being taken for granted. Yes, once you seek financial assistance from Nigerians for a legitimate course, once it goes viral online, you can be rest assured that you will get more than enough of what you initially requested. But in recent times, we have seen such gestures being abused and messed up by some desperate persons, who are only after making quick money.

For instance, we saw the story of Nollywood actor, Mr. IBU, were his wife and the actor’s adopted daughter, Jasmine Okafor, were drawn into bitter war of words across social media platforms, with serious accusations and counter accusations flowing here and there. Then you ask yourself what is the problem- simply over who should be in control of the funds (millions of Naira) donated for Mr. Ibu’s health, how to share the funds, what and what to purchase with the money, amongst other embarrassing things revealed to the public as a result.

My advice to people is to be very careful, not to destroy this running gesture from the good people of Nigeria. Because if this mess is not properly cleaned up and on time, it will come to a point that people will find it difficult to render such help any more, even if it’s for a genuine course. A word is enough for the wise!
