Popular and controversial APC chieftain Joe Igbokwe and Aisha Yesufu were drawn into a serious fight online following the refusal of the latter to stand up for the new national anthem during an event.

The video of Aisha Yesufu refusing to honour the new national anthem went viral since early Saturday June 1, 2024, and has triggered massive reactions from Nigerians. And one of them is Joe Igbokwe, who berated the Activist for her attitude.

“Aisha Yesufu cannot respect the National Anthem. Let us see where all that nonsensical behavior will take her to. She may not understand the damage she is doing to herself and her family. Continue,” Joe Igbokwe wrote.

In a quick reaction, Aisha Yesufu wrote, “Joe Igbokwe should please call a family meeting and ask them to speak freely and tell him if they are not ashamed of who he is. A desperado who goes about licking every behind no matter how smelly to be considered worthy of a morsel from the national cake.”

In a separate post, she tackled the APC chieftain, on the ground that he thinks her family is like his, whose survival depends majorly on crumbs from the government.

Meanwhile, mixed reactions have continued to trail the adoption of the new national anthem across the country, with many people criticizing the government for putting so much energy on an adventure which has no significance on the current problems bedeviling the country at the moment.
