A Roman Catholic Priest, in the person of Reverend Father Kelvin Ugwu has berated Christians who still engage in buying anointing oil all in the name of seeking anointing from their respective men of God or spiritual leaders.

Without mincing words, the priest condemned the practice of paying for anointing oil before a Christian believer can be anointed, as anointing should be acquired or gotten for free, without financial implications.

He also stated that people are actually mixing up issues about anointing, making it clear you do not need anointing every day of your life, that once you are anointed then you don’t need to keep going for re-anointing often as seen with most christians.

“You don’t buy anointing oil, rather you get anointing free. And once anointed, you don’t need a re-anointing every Eke Market day. If you have faith, you would have known that,” he wrote.

Meanwhile, the post has sparked mixed reactions amongst the Christian believers among his social media followers, with majority of them actually queuing behind his school of thought, while some others actually disagreed with him.

Meanwhile, it is a regular practice amongst christians in this part of the world, to spend heavily to buy anointing oil, mostly sold from some revered and powerful priests, pastors, evangelists and other men of God.

Funny as it may sound, but you will see one person buying more than five containers of anointing oil at a go. Shockingly, you will see them when they visit another man of God, end up buying another quantoms of anointing oil there, and it’s just an endless lifestyle or practice amongst most christians here.
