Sadly, the last might not have been heard with regards to veteran Nollywood actor, Hanks Anuku, as he releases a new video begging the public for financial help as to help him meet up with his personal needs in life, and that video has sparked mixed reactions amongst many people, especially Nigerians on social media.

This is coming after a video of the actor had gone viral across social media platforms, were he was spotted at a fuel station in Asaba, Delta State, looking and talking like a mentally unstable person. After that episode, the actor has finally made up his mind to speak up, begging for financial assistance from Nigerians.

He equally reminded us that he has really worked for the country and has truly attained the status of being called a legend. Further, he pleaded for all those who loved the work he has done, those he has entertained, including Governor Sheriff to assist him financially.

“I thank you all fans and my Governor Sheriff. I have tried my best to uphold my status as an entertainer, so it is good to let you all know what I’m going through,” Hanks Anuku captioned the post via his official Instagram page.

“I have a family and will love to get all the help from you all. Dropping my account details, nothing is ever too small,” he concluded.

Lots of mixed reactions have actually, though expectedly, trailed the post, with some person urging people in Nollywood, including Hanks Anuku, to quit the industry and go start a business before it becomes too late. A certain such comment stated that you can’t actually use acting as a full time career in a country like Nigeria.

“All of you guys are broke, leave Nollywood and start up a business now before it’s too late. You can’t use acting as a full time work, especially in Nigeria,” Instagram user @iam_ogini commented in reaction to the video post made by the veteran actor.

Many people also advised for the actor to first seek medical attention and rehabilitation, especially as they suspect that he might be a drug addict and will only end up squandering all the money donated to him on drugs as usual. On the other hand, some others are of the opinion that since the successful public donations of money for the treatment of John Okafor, popularly known as Mr. Ibu, that lots of other NOLLYWOOD actors have suddenly started needing donations from the public for them to seek proper medical attention.

Unfortunately, this is not the first time this issue has surfaced online, the last the actor was equally spotted in Asaba Delta State in same manner, some of his colleagues especially veteran Nollywood actress, Shan George, had immediately came up with a post, including a video with Hanks, debunking that any thing is actually wrong with the actor. This was some time in 2022.

Meanwhile, actress Adanma Luke in a counter post urged her colleagues in Nollywood to stop the lies and equally stop deceiving the public. She made it clear that all is not fine with Hanks Anuku and that he needs help and should be allowed to get help from the people.

Thank God the truth is coming out gradually, because few days ago we made a similar post, urging those close to the actor, especially his friends, colleagues and family people to help this young man before it becomes too late. Yes, after watching the video of last year again and that of this year I was completely convinced that all is not well with the Nollywood actor.

Hanks Anuku uses to be one of the fans most favourite actors in the Nollywood few years ago, and he actually made his breakthrough in the movie industry with the then blockbuster movie titled “The Senator”. He then went on to feature in dozens of movies in the industry.
