A certain practicing nurse in the United States of America has expressed her intention to relocate to Africa, and that has actually left many people wondering what’s really going on in her head.
Well, nurse Bunny Jessica Martin who is based in the US is of a mixed nationality; Nigerian/German, but she’s interested in moving to Africa, but not stating which country in Africa exactly.
But her major fears is not even about insecurities or lack of infrastructural facilities, but how she will be treated by the people because of her skin colour.
“Hello, I’m really interested in moving to Africa. I’m Nigerian and German. I’m scared I won’t be accepted because I’m so light…” she posted.
Reacting to the post, a Nigerian social media user @iamhenryarnold advised her to rather consider going to Maryland or Chicago, were she could find many Nigerian immigrants.
Then that will offer her the experience she seems to get while relocating to Africa, then she will from there know how she will be treated if she eventually relocates to Africa.
Secondly, he reminded Jessica that its just four months to Christmas, of which can add visiting Nigeria as one her list of to do things within that period. But warned her not to rush into a relationship with any one from her.
“It’s four months (4 months) to Christmas you can add visiting Nigeria to your bucket list. Hold on, don’t go into a relationship with anyone of them just yet,” he advised her.
Well, I still wonder why he’s telling her to avoid relationship with anyone from here upon her visit or prior to her visit. There’s even those commenting that Yahoo boys would have stormed her page on social media to make friends with her.
Sounds funny though, how we are rated here, even from our own people. But one thing I’m so certain is that we Nigerians are very hospitable and loving people.
