It has often a fierce war of words between certain police officers and Nigerians on the social media platforms, most especially on Twitter, and it played once again.

It all started following a post made by the Police public relations officer, PRO, Force Headquarters Abuja, Prince Olumuyiwa Adejobi.

He shared photos from the recent wedding of the son of the current Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, which happened few days ago, precisely on August 27, 2024.

Reacting to the post, some Nigerians swore never to have anything to do with the children of the Nigerian police officers, citing that they are cursed from the activities of their parents, mostly father, while they served as Police officers.

For instance, an X user @FrankZephyr1 wrote in reaction, “As I became a man and started dating, I told myself that God forbid make I date Nigeria Police officer pikin. They come with uncleanable swear“.

In a swift reaction, Prince Olumuyiwa Adejobi wrote angrily, “Police officers don’t have pikins. We have children. And those who know their value appreciate them. God is great“.

“God forbid make I marry police pikin, children wey Don received swear and curse from the result of their father atrocities in the uniform,” Ibrahim @Abugeorge87 wrote as well.

See more reactions from Nigerians over this subject matter…

“If you live in police barracks then you will know what this guy is saying is nothing but the truth,” African_unifier @African_unifier.

“There is not one profession in this country that is worse than the Nigerian police you empty head,” WarepamorSammy @Warepamorsammy.

“Like fathers, like children. People should really  consider what @FrankZephyr1 seriously,” Udoetuk Nyanah @udoetuknyanah.

“Yes!!! God is great, you hide under His name to commit atrocities and because we know our values and not ready to share unknown persons curse, na why we decided never to have any relationship with a police children,” @Lexyzdoo.

“Obvious truth. Over 80% of Police children are nothing to write home about. I have seen so many of them. But those officer’s intimidating people on the road. Will believe that those curses work. I don’t think there’s any day these guys don’t receive a deserved curse,” Enweluonye Amobi @EnweluonyeAmobi.

“Police in Nigeria is a Cursed Profession their Criminality is way too much to mix it with any bloodline,” Engr Simdre @Nemonwa.

“Police men children are all cursed. The curses on their police parents affect them. I have seen many of them and even dated one. Their brains dey touch,” Emelie Victor Efosa @EmelieVictor2.

“In other countries, citizens feel safe when they see police officers but in Nigeria citizens become afraid when they see police officers…” Blessed Man @Delights_Team_

Well, without mincing words, we have children of many police officers and pastors turn to something else here. And don’t deceive yourself that sins of parents do not visit their children, it does visit them.

On the other hand, majority of our police officers are terrible, and lacks human conscience. We have cases of their evil, inhumanity and lots more against the Nigerian citizens, especially the poor people who do not have people to fight for them.

The sort of wicked and thrumped up charges they level against helpless and innocent Nigerians can never be overemphasized. Which has seen a lot of people languishing in jail and police cells across the country, and those who have died untimely as a result as well.
