No One year Industrial Training Certificate, no service for graduates, according to the new NYSC camp policy…

It is not the best of time for holders of the Higher National Diploma (HND) as the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) body has come up with a new policy that will affect a lot of students with HND.

Going forward, those with HND won’t be allowed to participate in the mandatory one year National Youth Service Corps exercise without their Industrial Training (IT) certification.

The new NYSC policy has already affected persons who failed to provide their IT certificate, and were turned back from the NYSC camp.

It is mandatory for graduates of polytechnics and monotechnics who wish to be mobilized for the the Batch B stream to provide evidence of participating in the one year industrial training before they can be admitted into the NYSC camp.

Many of the graduates affected by this new policy have continued to lament as they are left heartbroken and stranded. Including those who made it clear that they have already completed their degrees program only to be met with this policy, and that they not know how to go about it at this moment.

Sadly, many graduates had travelled long distances from their respective locations/states to their orientation camps, only to be confronted with the new policy, which many of them termed “harsh and irrelevant”.

Well, while other corps members are having a smooth registration at their various orientation camps, the fate of the victims of the said policy remains uncertain.
