Tragedy has once again struck the country’s movie industry as one of its members has passed away just few weeks after veteran actress and singer, Onyeka Onwenu slumped and died in Lagos State.
Sharon Okpamen has reportedly departed the world. She is said to have died few days after giving birth to her second child. The actress had weeks ago announced the birth of her second child with her husband.
Fellow Nollywood producer, Stanley Ontop reported about her death via his official Instagram page, though failed to reveal the cause of her death.
In his exact words, Stanley Ontop wrote, “Nollywood Actress and Producer Sharon Okpamen has unfortunately passed on. It’s a sad day for Nollywood & the Edo entertainment industry”.
He further lamented the void the deceased has left in the movie industry, while praying for her soul to rest in peace.
“Sharon, who was a filmmaker, actress, entrepreneur & humanitarian, has left a significant void in the industry. May her soul rest in perfect peace, Amen @sharonokpamen. It can only get better,” he added.
While it has remained uncertain about the cause of her death, there are insinuations that she died while giving birth, some others said she died days after she delivered, resulting from complications.
This is also coming just few months after Nollywood was thrown in massive tragedy following the boat mishap that saw the death of a couple of their members in Anam, Anambra state. The incident caused the death of one of their senior actor, Junior Pope Odonwodo, and others.
