You see those Saudi Guys, let me just keep my words while we go straight to the story first…
Well, “Lilipop” crooner Lil Wayne in an interview revealed how he was stunned and humbled by the benevolent wealth of the Saudi guys during his visit to Saudi Arabia, such that he felt he hasn’t made enough money after all.
While he travelled to the oil rich country for a show, and landed at a private Airport, he was denied entry because of the worth of his jewelry, which was valued at about $25k.
“I went to Saudi Arabia for a show and after we landed in a private airport, I was dénied entrance because they said I had jewelry worth over $25k or something like that,” he revealed during the interview.
Though the singer revealed he got pissed off in the process and angrily returned to his plane and made up his mind to leave the country immediately. Only to be approached shortly by a certain guy, who offered apology from someone he referred to as “Excellency”. Who also gave order for him to come in without any further checks.
“I didn’t understand what they was trying to say so I got ångry and went back to my plane and wanted to leave, but a guy walked into the plane and said his Excellency heard what happened and got pisséd and told me to go walk right through,” he further saud.
He went in without any further checks, and straight to his hotel room, and got a text from the same Excellency, apologizing over the incident, and equally offered to come in person to further apologize to him.
“When I was walking through everybody in the airport was like statues and saying nothing. I arrived at my hotel room, he texted me and said he was angry about what happened and wanted to come apologize to me in person so I said no problem,” he said.
Then when the Excellency in question visited his hotel shortly, he got him (Lil Wayne) a Franck Muller watch worth far above $25k; “he walked in and he said “Jewelry over $25k? I bring you gift over $25k” he made his friend open the gift and it was a Franck Muller watch. That Watch is worth way over $25k”.
Then he was also offered a choice of Lamborghini or Ferrari as part of their apology to the super star for the issues he had with the airport officials. Though not really understanding what’s going on that moment he still settled for a Lambo.
In his words, “after he was leaving the room, he said, ‘oh, I forgot, Lamborghini or Ferrari?’ I thought it was a general question. I said ‘Lamborghini”.
I thought he was asking me which one was better. Then he asked, ‘what color?’ I said ‘black.’ He said, ‘In front of your house in three weeks. I’m very sorry for this”.
I was still thinking that he was joking too. I said Lamborghini truck I heard they are new. I got that like two or three days later! Those guys are fucking rich”.
Life of a super star indeed. You can imagine how the star was compensated by the Saudi Royal Family, precisely the Saudi Prince for his troubles a their Airport.
