What seems to be a repeat of last year’s clash of the Giants has once ended in favour of 21 year old Spanish Alcaraz after defeating Novak Djokovic in this year’s Wimbledon final to retain his trophy.

Alcaraz was dominant through most duration of the final game of the Wimbledon and ensured he won the game with the result 6-2 6-2 7-6 (7-4).

The trophy was presented to Alcaraz by the Princess of Wales. And in his speech, he stated, “Honestly, it is a dream for me winning this trophy. I did an interview when I was 11 and I said my dream is to win Wimbledon.”

Unfortunately for Djokovic, he has for two straight time attempted equalling Roger Federer’s record of eight Wimbledon men’s titles, but seems unrealistic at the moment.

Just like his fellow Country man, Rafael Nadal, the new kid on the block (Alcaraz) has achieved a rare stuff of winning both the Roland Garros and Wimbledon in the same year (2024). Recall Rafael Nadal did same in 2008 and in 2010.

“Credit to Carlos for playing elite tennis, especially from the back of the court. He had it all today,” Novak Djokovic said in his own speech.
