A Nigerian mother identified as Dr. Obianma Onya has gone viral following her recent post, apparently directed at her future sons in-law, centred on a particular subject matter. The post has since sparked thousands of mixed reactions across social media platforms.

The beautiful mother of three who’s equally a practicing medical doctor is of the opinion that, she wouldn’t tolerate the fact that her daughters must get permission from their husbands before coming to visit her whenever they choose to do so.

Revealing that such a practice which has become a trademark with most marriages of these days is totally strange to, as she has never been subjected to such by her hubby, and equally for the fact that they never raised their children with such despicable mentality, which she tagged “master-servant relationship”. She clearly stated that any man who subjects any of her daughters to such treatment, that she will personally come and take her daughter away from such man.

She further warned those men who often lay claims that they have paid bride price of their wives, as such, that they should have full control of their wives. She questioned how much is even paid as a bride price that can equate the hundred ls of millions parents spent in training and raising their children.

“Bride price is merely a token of commitment and not a symbol of ownership,” she added.

While some agreed with her point, some others urged her to desist from interfering in the affairs of her children’s marriage, as long as it is not a situation of abuse of any form. Once couples decides that this is what works best for themselves and their marriages, they should be allowed to live their lives as it suits them.
