There has been a lot of buzz since it surfaced online that Nollywood actor, Yul Edochie allegedly denied ever being married to his second wife, Judy Austin, at the ongoing court case involving him and his estranged wife, May Edochie. Recall that May had approached the court demanding for a one hundred million Naira (100,000,000) damages against Judy Austin, as part of the prayers contained in her divorce suit, instituted about three months ago.
To the shock of everyone, Yul and Judy denied ever being married to each other, in spite the fact that they already have two kids together, living together and doing virtually everything together. They claimed that they were equally shocked to have read on many online platforms that they have married each other, with Yul Edochie maintaining that he has only one wife which is May Edochie.
The development has expectedly sparked widespread mixed reactions from many people, especially Nigerians, who have equally began making unsavoury and mockery remarks against Judy Austin, on the ground that she is a loser as she is not recognized by either Yul Edochie or the family of the actor as his/their wife, among several other mockery remarks circulating online.
Unfortunately for such people, as they don’t understand the game plan of Yul and Judy. Yes, they are fully aware of what they are doing, and doesn’t require the pity or opinion of anyone else. This is just a smart move orchestrated by the lovebirds just to avert the possibility of the court of law granting the prayers of one hundred million Naira damages against Judy Austin, which in practical is on the head of both Judy and Yul.
Now, if they are able to prove to the court being all reasonable doubt, then the 100 million Naira damages in question will likely not hold any water, as such will be stroke out by the court. Many of you do not understand that May has a good case against Yul and Judy, going by the way her marriage was desecrated by the duo, as Yul did not follow the legal process in taking his second wife while still legally married to May. As such, Yul and Judy are desperately seeking ways to wriggle themselves out of the trap of May and the court of law.
On the other hand, Yul and Judy do not have that kind of money to cough out in settlement if the court eventually grants the request. And you are equally aware of the fact that once the court grants that, no one cares if Yul and Judy have the money or not, as such, they must seek ways to obey the court judgement. This in turn may force them to sell most of their properties and assets, and such will inevitably plunge them into penury; they will go totally broke. And once this happens, the lovebirds will struggle financially for years to regain their feet once again, while May on the other hand will automatically become richer and living her life to the fullest. Of which all these are exactly what Yul and his second wife, Judy Austin are doing all they can to avoid.
So, for those making mockery of them or laughing at them, most especially Judy Austin, you are being misled and equally failing victim of their game plan and trap. What they are doing is a very smart strategy, which will definitely benefit them in the end.
Meanwhile, you equally need to understand that a man marrying two wives is not against the law, especially in the Igbo culture. But in the face of the law, there are required procedure for legally married people to approach such, of which Yul failed to do, and he has equally understands that, hence the reason he and Judy are deploying such crazy tactics in the court case.
