The story of popular and controversial Nigerian activist, Martins Vincent Otse popularly known as Very Dark BlackMan, VDM, seems to be one of the most thrilling in recent times.
Till date, there’s no agreeing point on the personality and true identity of this young man. But in all of these, he has continued to establish his name as a force to be feared in this part of the world. This is even mostly based on the fact that his guts and fearlessness is beyond comprehension.
He speaks the truth to whoever he chooses to talk about, be it even Mr. President.
Now, his guts and fearlessness nature seems to be the reason why many people have continued to talk bad about him, in their desperation to paint him completely black and bad.
They are not happy that he’s doing what they were supposed to have been doing, what their fans and followers had expected from them. But because of fears and insincerity and selfishness, they couldn’t live up to that lofty height. Hence, they have marked him as their number one enemy who must be brought down at all cost.
Yes, we have expected lots of our prominent personalities in different fields of endeavours, to speak up for us the poor and voiceless masses, mostly in the face of oppression, intimidation, maltreatment, injustices, and otherwise.
But that’s not going to happen because they are not sincerely interested in fighting for the common man. And once their own matter has been taken care of, then the poor masses can actually go to hell and perish.
Which is what separates VDM from them, and that has continued to pain them. Because they never believed in him taking up that mantle and sustaining it till much. But seeing that he’s a totally different breed, then the envy and jealousy sets in.
For years the country has been characterized with uncountable evil from the state and political leaders against the masses. How many of your religious leaders, pastors, favourite celebrities and co, have boldly and sincerely stood up for the people?
Rather, they are still busy chasing their selfish agendas just to fill their own coffers, then the helpless and poor masses can actually die.
Just look at the recent leaked audio taping by the same Very Dark BlackMan, exposing the corruption and evil among the Nigeria Prison officials and within the EFCC. What happened afterwards? These same group of enemies of the people left out the crux of the matter and started attacking the man who exposed.
He suddenly became the hunted while the bush meat was left to enjoy life in abundance. They brought up useless issues of defamation and all that, just to ensure that the matter is killed. They all ganged up against the young man, while all those fingered in the case were left out completely. Tufiakwa!
That the kind of people we have over the years been looking up to, to fight for us, to speak up for our sake. May God urgently have mercy on us in this country!
My happiness in all of these is the fact that those who understands and appreciates the work he’s doing are showing enough support to him. We shall surely get there one day, soon, in Jesus name Amen!
