News reaching our desk this afternoon indicates that the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has reportedly arrested a 41-year-old Canadian woman, identified as Adrienne Munju, with a huge consignment of contraband drugs.
She was arrested at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, MMIA Ikeja Lagos for importing a large consignment of ‘Canadian Loud’ which is a very strong and deadly strain of synthetic cannabis.
She was arrested during the routine inward clearance of passengers on KLM airline flight from Canada at the terminal 1 of the Lagos airport.
This happened on Thursday 3rd October 2024. Her three luggages were subjected to examinations, during which 74 parcels of the illicit substance weighing 35.20 kilograms stuffed in two of her three bags.
During her interrogation, she claimed she was contracted via an online platform to do the job, with a reward of 10,000 Canadian dollars. Which she equally claimed she needed the money badly to pay for her ongoing master’s degree programme in Canada.
