How Saka And Kai Havertz Are Leading Arsenal To The EPL Title.

Arsenal in recent years have completely transformed from what it used to be in the past few years to one of the biggest clubs in Europe, and not just that, but with great footballing talents pushing the club to it’s first ever English Premier League, EPL, title in over a decade.

On Saturday, the gunners demolished Southampton Football Club 3-1 and it was the brilliance of two players that stood out in the game.

The world class performances from Bukayo Saka and Kai Havertz ensured the gunners secured all three points to itself, in spite the visitors taking the lead in the 55th minute through C. Archer. Then Kai Havertz equalized in the 58th minute, Gabriel Martinelli made it 2-1 ten minutes later (in the 68th minute), and Saka made it 3-1 in the 87th minute.

WHAT YOU SHOULD KNOW…

Bukayo Saka has now registered seven (7) Premier League assists this season, two coming from Saturday’s game, being the most by any player in Europe’s top five leagues.

Kai Havertz has scored in home league games in a row for Arsenal, always rewarding the trust Mikel Arteta out on him even when the world didn’t see anything good in the player. Meanwhile, the last player to do so was Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang in September 2019.

On the other hand, it is only two Arsenal players who have scored in seven consecutive games at the Emirates Stadium for Arsenal. The players are Robin Van Persie during the 2011/2012 season and Kai Havertz in the current season (2024/2025). In other words, Kai has equalled Van Persie’s record.

Further on Saka, he has become the 5th winger in Premier League history to have scored or assisted 90 plus goals in the Premier League at the age of twenty three (23). Cristiano Ronaldo (118), Raheem Sterling (110), Ryan. Giggs (92), Marcus Rashford, Bukayo Saka (91), then we have Theo Walcott (75).

And Saka equally leads in the player with the most league assists in Europe’s top five leagues this season: Saka has seven (7) assists, Lamine Yamal has five, Alex Baena equally has five (5), and João Neves has five (5) as well.
